			 PLEASE HELP!!!

I am working on installing some auto meter guages particularly the water temp guage on my 90 gt. After removing the stock temp sensor I found that the auto meter sensor tip it to long to fit in the metal tube that the factory sensor came out of. Does the auto meter tip have to be fully submerged in the coolant or can it just touch? I was thinking that I could use a brass fitting extender or something to give me room for the auto meters tip? Think this could work? Would I still get a accurate reading? Does any one have a better idea? Thanks for your help.

look behind your ac compressor and just in front of the first injector on drivers side, thats where you put the temp fiitting. you will need to get a diff size fitting cause the one thats in the gauge package is not right size for the hole in the intake. i just did this install about 6 month ago.

lx mike is right. The sending unit you want to replace is on the drivers side at the front of the motor. The one in the picture is your engine temperature sensor for your computer. You will need a bushing to adapt it to the right size thread.

Call AutoMeter (815)895-8141 and tell them you need the 3/8 adaptor for the stock lower temp location. I just received mine on Sat.. I hooked it up and it works fine. The one that came with the kit was a 1/2 in. They sent it free.

I just checked out the attachment. Don't put it there. Right behind the distributor and before the first injector on the lower intake is where the stock guage is located. Unplug it, unscrew it, and install the adaptor there(after you put some teflon tape on it). You will not need the stock guage on the dash cluster any more. I had to drain a little coolant out first.
