Right now you should have an AOD. I'd defintitely recommend a C4 for your combo though.

the quickest way to tell its an aod, is the bellhousing. on the bottom of the bellhousing there should be a area with a bunch of squares(you'll know when you see it. Also, do you have tv-linkage or vacuum lines connecting to your trans.?

aod - tv linkage controlled - two cables from throttle lever to the trans near the shifter cable.

c4 - vacuum controlled - vacuum line going from intake to vacuum modulator on the side of the trans.

i have a tv linkage but no squares on the bellhousing, the tv linkage goes to the shift mechanism on the tranny, i dont know if this will help but the drain plug is in the back corner of the pan, and the neutral switch is on drivers side of the tranny on top, if this doesnt help is there any #'s on it that can be found without taking it out?

THANKS

Well the stock aod's, as well as most trannys, dont have a drain plug. You have to drop the pan to drain the fluid so yours must be aftermarket unless a plug was added. If that was the case the pan should say Metric AOD(i think). If I remember correctly, yes the neutral switch is on the driver side. I'm going out right now to work on my tranny actually so if I think of any distinguishing marks I'll post back in a bit.

the casting # should be right above the shift linkage on the case, drivers side.

How does that work? EFI is Electronic Fuel Injection, I am pretty sure it has to have a computer.

That has to be an AOD then, but check the casting # anyways.
