The driveshaft isn't spinning at all when it's put into gear, I just found out. I still hear that whirring sound, though...hmm. Next on my list is to pull off the converter cover to see if the converter is still attached to the flexplate. No worries, I'm sure I can fix 'er up, though some sympathy is appreciated.

If necessary repairs require removal, I plan on upgrading everything I can inside so this doesn't happen again, such as a stamped OD input drum and wider band, plus all new clutches, steels, and everything else. I'll let y'all know if the converter sheared its bolts this afternoon. Thanks for the input so far, guys!
