![]() I have a 1994 Mustang v-6. It has a 7.5 inch rear end with 2.73 gears. I am going to put a 302 or 351w into it. I need to put a new or old rear axle. What is the best way to go. I want 3.73 gears in the rear end. Shold I get an 8.8 or 9 inch. Will buying in used one be ok. I want it to support 500+hp but be a daily driver. How much will it cost me. Thanks for your help.

![]() a "built" 8.8 should do just fine...use 31 spline axles. it will weigh less than the 9 inch too. if you want to be track legal think about c clip eliminators. look in any mustang mag for axles setups and prices.
