Default A-arm bushings and Ball joints

I need to service my front A-arms and need some info on how to remove the bushings and ball joints. They say the bushings are really hard to get out. Can I pry the rubber bushing out or do I need to remove the steel shell thats inside too. Also, Ball joints....How do you get them out- with a hammer?

Thanks All!

guys, one option is to buy new control arms from summit. for $180 dollars you get two new control arms with new ball joints and bushings, just simply bolt in. you are going to need a press to get out the old ball joints and bushings. by the time it is all over its just about more convient to get new arms.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the advice! Both of you.
Sounds like it would be easier to buy new ones.
Outplayn...let me know if you get some info from your friend....
Thanks!
