![]() I swapped my engine from my 86 to my 93 today. I left the 86 bellhousing on. When I went to put the 93 tranny in, it didn't quite fit. I noticed the cover on the input shaft (bearing housing, I think) is different. Anyhow, I just put the old 86 T-5 in for right now. Do I have to change the bellhousing to use the 93 T-5? Or can I just swap the front bearing retainer, or is that what gives the later T-5's the extra torque capacity?
BTW, when I swapped the engine, I cut the old stock exhaust out of the car. I figured I could drive it a couple days with just the BBK high flow H-pipe and some home made dumps. OMFG! I am not making the neighbors happy. It sounds mean, and it screams at 6000 RPM, but I've gotta drive this thing 90 miles round trip to work, and I've got to drive down to San Diego Thursday. Maybe I can find something tomorrow. 93 GT, CCM long block, GT40P heads, Crane 2031, 1.7 RR's, Moroso cold air, Cobra intake, 65mm TB, 73mm Vortech, 24# injectors, MAC GT40P headers, 2-1/2" BBK H-pipe (w/cats), 3.55s, B&M Ripper shifter, Black Magic fan [This message has been edited by withamc (edited 06-10-2001).] [This message has been edited by withamc (edited 06-11-2001).] |
