Best 17" Tires??
In searching to find me some new tires I discovered that my preferred tire, BFG Comp T/A ZR4 is not made in the size I need anymore (according to TireRack).
Anyway what do you guys prefer? I need a 255/40 tire with dry/wet handling, good treadwear, and hydroplane resistance. Preferably under $200. Total street tire that's driven year around except in the snow. I see where Firestone SV50 EP, Dunlop Sport 8000, BFG g-Force T/A KDW, or Pirelli P7000 might fit my needs. |
I have 255/40-ZR17 Dunlop SP8000s on the front of my '00 and am very pleased with them. Excellent cornering and good wet weather traction. Can't say how long they last as I have not had them for long.
The only bad thing about this size is they are OEM on some Porsches, so they are a bit expensive. [This message has been edited by blue00gt (edited 08-29-2001).] |
For outstanding dry and wet traction handling, these are the tires you want. And they are only $132.

I vote for the Kumho ECSTA Supra 721 for $110 plus about $10 S&H from Tire Rack.

I have the Kumho's on my cobra and I love'em.
