Post Best 306 setup with carb?

I am recieving a 302 tomorrow and I want to know the best carbutated setup to run. I will be boring it .030 over..I already have a elderbrock 4 barrel carb...What cam should I run, I have NO emmission laws..I will not be running a smog pump, ac, or power steering...What is a great flowing intake for carbs..I will prob be buying a good set of aluminum heads also..
Well, actually my gf will be buying ALL the parts due to its going into her car and I am a poor broke college boy..

You didn't say what year it was, or what size carb it is. If it's an '84 or older block, I'd go with an A312 cam. If it's an '85 or newer, you could go with either a B or E cam. For the intake, you really can't go wrong with an Edelbrock performer RPM. I don't like Edelbrock carbs, and would use a Holley, but that's my preference.

Take care

What's up pckerwood? Smoke what kind of driving are you using this for? That's how you need to select your parts. If it's going to live in the 5000-7500 RPM range, you're going to need a solid lifter cam and victor jr intake with a 750 double pumper. If it's a street car, you'll want a hydraulic cam with a dual plane intake. I would have to agree that the Holley is a better carb. Don't forget rear axle gears and tranny. If you have an automatic and don't buy a converter, you can forget about running any cam with a healthy duration. You won't even be able to pop the car into gear. Need a little more info on the car.
