Stock 88 5.0l Speed Density Engine
Mac Underdrive pullies
Hypertech Super Chip
GT 40 heads*
Cobra Upper and Lower*

and what throttle body?

Keep in mind I do not want to convert over to MAS air

Thanks

Assuming, of course, that you'll do a mass air conversion along with the cam/headswap, I'd say go with the venerable E303. It was designed to work with those GT40 heads and Cobra Intake by engineers far more qualified to make that decision than I, and I would stick with what is reliable and proven.

Both the B cam and E cam have been proven to work with the speed density system. You'll need to get an adjustable FPR to tune the fuel pressure, or 24lb/hr injectors, I would recommend a 65mm T/B with that combo.

I have heard that the B cam will not work with the SD system,

what is the FPR like to adjust, do I have to spend a lot of time tweeking,or will I be able to set once and be able to leave it with out having to adjust it every few days/weeks? What does one cost? what is involved in installing one?

The mods I have listed how will they affect my engine in terms of life, will it shorten it because of the new parts on old factor, or will it make a difference?

Thanks again

An adjustable fuel pressure regulator will set you back 100-150 if I'm correct. They are simple to adjust, you'll need a fuel pressure gauge, I think most adjust with a screw.

88workcar was running the B cam on the speed density system for a while. He had his car running low/mid 12's with that cam.

The cars lifespan shouldn't be heavily affected by running that combination. A stock cam with 1.7:1 roller rockers is also an option if you want to make sure your speed density car remains easy to keep in tune and running well.

You can get a Kirban adjustable FPR for $75 from GTR Performance and it's better than many of the more expensive ones. I had the BBK and Aeromotive and sent 'em both back.

Hypertech Super Chip
cobra Upper and Lower
GT 40 heads (93 cobra spec)
