Question best cam

the next performance related mod i will be doing is a cam. i was thinking about the E303 cam but i would like to know your guys and gals oppinions. my car is mainly driven on the street with the occassional race.

black 89 lx hatchback 5.0, 17x9 polished Cobra R's wrapped in 215/50/17 up front and 245/40/17 out back , perfectly clean and original interior

less than 1,000 miles on new t-5, throw out bearing and clutch. completly redone exaust shorty headers, custom h pipe, flowmaster 40 series, all mandrell bent 2.5 inch tubing

i got all new headlight assembly for christmas with clear corners

With your mods? Save your money, the stock HO cam is more than enough. The first things that need work on the 5.0 are the intake and heads.

As stated above a cam wont help you much at this point. If you just want a rougher more agressive idle the E-303 would be a good choice.

Too bad he's not SD. If he wanted the sound, he could just disconnect the vacuum line running to the MAP sensor.

That'll give you some rumpity rump. It'll even load up and blow black smoke like you have a big lift 240* duration cam in the block.

i agree, upgrade your intake and exhaust systems before you consider a cam swap. in fact i would also include a head swap before a cam swap.

Exactly. Your spare tire and jack don't dictate a cam swap at this time
