Default Heating UP

For the past 2 years I have had a problem of thermostats sticking closed causing my car to over heat. I would replace one every 6 months and the problem would go away for 4 months or so then must replace again. Well yesterday I just said forget it and took the thermostat out and not use one. Well guess what it still will overheat and boil water out the over fill tank. So I opened the cap and watched the water cycle in the radiator so is the water pump bad it only has 127k miles. LOL Any suggestions would be great but I will replace the pump but everything seems to be cycling ok.
