Balancer won't budge!!!
I got the harmonic balancer puller from Autozone, pulled off the crank pulley, hooked up the balacer puller, though only 2 bolts can go through the puller thingamajig into the balancer put the big bolt through the center with the pointy end thing and I've been cranking on that bastard til I'm afraid I'll break something. I've got the car in 5th gear with the e brake on so the balancer wont turn, but the sucker ain't budging. I'm sure it's never been off before, but this thing is ridiculous. Any suggestions?
Is there any possibility I will break something if I keep cranking?

You didn't mention removing the 15/16" bolt (or is it just a nut) that's holding the balancer on.
If you haven't then thats whats holding you back, and yes you will break something if you dont take it off

Give the bolt head on the puller a good solid wack straight on with a good sized hammer. The shock should help break it loose. Just make sure you hit it straight on.

The tool will likely be what breaks if anything does. Make sure it's not moving before you get concerned, though. Usually, they creep out slowly, and don't get any easier until they are ready to fall off. If the center bolt on the puller is turnung, the balancer is coming off. How did you remove the center bolt?

You removed the bolt and left the washer on? wow. That's a first in my world. At least it's something you'll never forget again!
Take care, -Chris

lol, don't worry about it, we all make mistakes like that
kinda like the time I tried to pull a powersteering pump pulley off with a hook type puller. Needless to say it didnt work I'm sure even PKRWUD makes mistakes every now and then, well then again, probably not

I know, I know. The worst part is that not 2 days ago a friend told me this had happened to him. The washer got stuck in the grease, he forgot about it and he almost broke his HB puller. Of course it would have been nice if I had figured it out before I posted it all over the net. Anyway I'm sure it's not the last bone head maneuver I pull, hopefully I won't do it so public next time.
