Blew out my 3rd heater core!!!
I've put 3 heater cores in my car in the past 4 years. I was thinking about doing it myself this year but I know my mechanic took the entire dashboard out when he did it. Is there an easier way to do it?

The only easier way is if your car was factory w/out A/C. If so, just open the glove box and go to town. If you have A/C, taking out the dash is the only way. And it's a bi**h. Mine was... Good luck.

My 89 has a/c... I did it once... now it's bypassed.
If ya do it, you should get a flow restrictor for the inlet tube. Also, it's so labour intensive, a budget core really isn't worth it (some of them are tacked together poorly). |
