Body Molding

I have a question about the body molding that goes around the middle of the car. How is it mounted on there? Is it possible to take it off? Is threre paint underneath it?

Most of it is held on there with double sided stickey tape.
The little pieces behind the doors, I can't remember if it's the ones in front of or behind the rear wheels or both, are held on by bolts. You have to tear out the interior to get at them. And the bits on the front and rear bumpers are molded right into the bumper cover.

I think there is paint underneath

If you are thinking of taking it off for a different look I wouldn't bother, you won't be happy with it and cause you can't take it off the bumpers it won't look right.

Hope this answers your questions

Conrad

I have seen some Mustangs with the middle molding removed and they looked really good. Just make sure you have the paint to back it up.

what did they do about the bumpers

would there not be a noticeable spot between the bumper and the rest of the car?

Let me try to find the pics... you have to leave them on the bumpers because it is molded in. The car has to be one solid color for it to look good.

My car is solid white. When the previous owner had it repainted, the rear molding (on the drivers side of the car) is a little bit crooked and I wanted to know what I would have to do to straighten it out.

Try unbolting it in the trunk and adjusting the molding.

Bad89stang, im not referring to the molding on my bumper, I'm referring to the molding behind my door, but in front of my tire. I have attached a pic and circled the piece I want to adjust. You can also see how it is uneven. Thanks for all of your guys help, and im sorry for not including the pic earlier, I'm braindead.:D

Sorry

That piece is just stuck on there with tape. Just pull it off, put new tape on and make it straight.
