Body side moulding

What exactly is under the black side moulding on my 91 LX vert. I was thinking about removing it to have a cleaner look. Is it painted, glued on, riveted on? Any ideas. THank you in advance. If anyone has attempted this feat, please give me the details.

It is stuck on with some kind of 3M adhesive. IMO don't remove it it will look like crap...it won't match the bumpers. You can buy the smooth ones from Mustangs Unlimited for about 100-130$ per side.

Saleen GTS is correct, it will look like Crap. You can take the molding off of the sides, rear 1/4 panels, fenders, but it's molded into the rear bumper cover and front bumper cover. Another idea is to paint it to match the paint color so it's monochromatic (like the '92 and '93 mustangs), so the molding will be less noticable and look ALOT better. Also, i haven't seen a car without the molding, but i believe the door is molded so it'd look really weird without the molding, but i may be wrong. good luck.

Leave on the piece nearest the front and back bumper, and take off the door piece and the piece before and after the door.

Take off 3, and leave 2. I'll try and find a picture of a car like that. A lot of cars in MMFF's has that setup and you don't even notice unless you are looking for it.

Just take em off, and if you don't like it, you can put them back on.

I thought the ones on the fenders were bolted on. I don't know for sure though.
