BOSS pistons ??
I'm trying to find 40 over BOSS pistons for a rebuild. Can anyone help me?
Thanx Guys |
You mean BOSS the brand name, or for a BOSS Mustang? What exactly is the engine, year, compression ratio desired, overbore, etc? We don't have much to go off of here, honestly.

SORRY. It is a BOSS 302 ,1971. It was stander till last week & now is 40 over. We are look for 40 over & compression can be from 8.5:1 up tp 12:1. Not sure on cam size yet or what is going to be done to it. We hit a wall hith the no piston problem. I was thinking of JE or Wiesco custom made. A lot of money though.

So no one can help? Also can you tell me how to get back my old mustang works user name? It has been a bit over a year & my old e-mail addy is long gone.

You need pistons for a "long rod" 306.
The Boss 302 uses a 302 crank, with 289 length rods and a special piston. A "long rod" 306 uses a standard 302 crank and 289 sized rods. I think DSS sells them for like $499 or something like that. Call up any major pistons manufactor and tell them what you want. ALmost all of them make the piston your looking for. -Josh, aka the tireburner |
josh you coward, you completely screwed me on this deal and blocked my AIM. If you are innocent, why do you refuse to communicate with me!
