Probably just some warping in the rotors. Start with a basic brake job and turning of the rotors. SHould take care of it. Good luck! Enjoy your new syang. I'm new to the stang clan myself with a recently purchased 95GT. Let us know how it goes.

If you feel it in the steering wheel at the same time, have the front rotors turned. If not, have the rear drums looked at. If it's as bad as you make it sound, plan on buying new rotors (or drums).

Hehehe, smartass. You know what's really funny to me? I have always held the late 60's, early 70's Mopars in a kind of secret high regard. Very powerful beasts. But they were the last to invest in disc brakes. It was common for a Dodge to have a strong 383 or 440, and 4 wheel drum brakes, up until the late 1970's! I never did understand that. Every car I've owned, except for the '66 Chevelle, had front disc brakes, but I've never owned a vehicle with all wheel disc brakes (except for the '85 VF1000R). Must be cool. I know it's expensive.

I'll tell ya PKRWUD, my 71 Chevelle that I've mentioned several times ran 11.90's and consistent 12.30's on street tires. That thing had four wheel manual drum brakes on it. Boy was that interesting to try and stop. I won many a stop light race. Actually, kicked some serious *** with it, but when it was time to slow down, I basically needed a runway to stop it. Having four wheel discs is nice, but like you said, they don't make for a cheap brake job.

Dammit! If I had known you were a "punk kid", I would have ignored you too! Todd- I can only imagine! I had a '69 SS Chevelle that hauled balls, and it was an effort to stop it, even though it had front discs. Drum brakes are great for parking brakes. Other than that, they're pretty useless.
