Broke my clutch cable, which one should I get?
I don't want to get a cheap part store cable as I've heard they break a lot.
In the latest Summit catalog in the Mustang section they have a Zoom cable and Quadrant for $70 and it says it's fully adjustable but I see no firewall adjuster? The BBK combo with F.wall adj. is $125 I'd rather save the few bucks as the car budget is depleted, but I only want to do this once. Whose cables and quadrants do you guys like? Should I take out the seat before I even try to get up in there, and is it really that hard to change out the quad.??

Re: Broke my clutch cable, which one should I get?
Well after seaching the posts it looks like I need to go with a ford cable or a maximum motorsports cable, should I get the quadrant and adjuster too?

Yeah always go with a Ford cable. Get a good quadrant but trhe adjuster probably isnt necessary.
When do you get a new timeslip?

Re: Broke my clutch cable, which one should I get?
Hopefully in a couple of weeks, depending on how much trouble this cable quadrant deal is, I hear a lot of talk about the cable being short, is this a reason to go with ford?
MM say's theirs is as good as ford and they agree ford is best, so I could get both from them. I'll bet you pay uot the butt at a dealership. P.S. This bastard better go 8.30's at least (1/8) I can't wait to get the nitrous tune. I plan to tap the gas activation through my unused foglight switch so I can slap it on when I hit 2nd as I am afraid to hit it in 1st (I have a window switch and a WOT switch but this way I can find it quick and not have to fumble around for the main switch while going down the track(enough goin on there already right?) I am afraid gas in 1st will grenade theT-5. I need some shorter tires, these McReary's are too tall!! 27.5"

Re: Broke my clutch cable, which one should I get?
If I can get the cable local, I could change the quadrant later right, It is what is hard to change out right, getting out the locking pawl and plastic quadrant. Is it much easier to just change the cable only? I want it going today!!

Re: Broke my clutch cable, which one should I get?
I changed one two weeks ago in the lot of a gas station. Took 20 minutes.
You've gotta do the limbo with your front seat in, I had the wife hold the cable to keep tension on it once I had hooked it onto the pawl. I have those 10 inch skinny medical locking plier things and they make it easy. Good luck. I've snapped 3 in 8 years...Ford and BBK kits...
