Default Broken head stud, hmmm.

An ARP head stud is broken off in the block with about 1/8" of exposed bolt sticking out.

The shop guys said to very carefully drill in the center of it with a small bit, drill as far as I can through the bottom of the bolt.

Then use progressively larger bits until I can get a good sized easy out in there.

Sound right?

Yep! But use a hand ratchet to remove it, no power tools!

Also use left hand drill bits if you can find some. Alot of times the heat from the drill will loosen off the stud and it will back out with the drill.

Default Son of A...

I broke two bits off inside of the hole I bored in the broken 1/2" ARP head stud.
What luck.
The bits are steel though(brand new DeWalt pos), and I'm going to a machine shop tomorrow to see if I can get a bada$$ left-twist bit.
I'm sure it will cost me. Joy. All this for a valve seal.

Default left handed bit...

I meant to thank you earlier LX5liter.

The left handed bit saved my butt. The fastener came right out after prepping the pilot hole with a carbide bit and cutting oil. The left-twist bit grabbed it and before I knew it, it was out.

Better lucky than good.
