Hi, everyone I just wanted to ask a question.
I was in the mall parking lot recently when a little old lady hit the driver side front part of my car. (88 mustang convertable) Althought the damage was not great, the accident caused a very serious short to the battery and the solonoid. I had the car towed home because of the short. When i finally got the car started again I noticed the idle was very high about 1500-2000rpms. I tried checking the codes to see if i could diagnose the problem but there are no codes. All I get on the meter is a 12volt charge; on all the connectors. Finally my question: How and What do you check to see if the EECIV is toasted or not? BTW I checked as best as I could to see if there was no other short; I couldn't find one. I also reseted the idle, no change. Thanks in advance. ------------------ |

Does the car respond at all to KOEO or KOER codes?

No, the car doesn't show any codes. No flashes no movement. When I connect the tester, I'm using an anolog voltage tester BTW, all it shows is a constanat voltage reading but no codes.
When I use test light, all it does is stay lit it doesn't flash. I tried the KOEO test, and KOER, and nada. ------------------ |

By respond, I meant the testing of relays and stuff in the engine, the clicks and stuff you hear when you first connect it, But if it's not doing that, I would think that's a problem.
Good luck man... Maybe you have a friend with a computer that you can try...Just make sure you fixed the shorts that you had!!!! ![]() |
