just check the usuals. check the oil and trans fluid, check for leaks, any ticking from the engine, feel the shift between gears, any bogging of acceleration

The headgasket on that car will likely go before 100K miles. However, Ford will fix it for free up to 100K miles. I have a '95 V6, now with 132K miles on it, and it has been nothing but a reliable warhorse!!! I've gone through 5 winters with the thing, and 5 summers, and its never given my any serious problems. The only potential problem is the head gasket. If it hasn't happened already, it will. That's why Ford extended the warranty to 100,000 miles. Funny thing is, my head gasket "popped" at 98K!

Also, just my opinion, but 4.7K for 74K miles seems a little high. I could be wrong, but check kbb.com (Kelley Blue Book.com).

If you're willing to not worry about the headgasket issue, go for it, like I said, it's been my dependable warhorse for 132K miles. Of course, I'm sure changing the oil every 3K miles of that 132K helped!

Put Cobra rims on it, and you'll really be 'pimpin'!
