A/C elimanator Kit
Which Elimanator kit is the easiest to install
I read the Ford Racing one requires a new belt and moving the Power steering. Also is it worth removing my A/c if it doesn't work. |
Save yourself some cash and visit your local junkyard. Just look for a mustang that has no a/c and snag the powerstering bracket. I think it looks much better then a idler pulley inplace of the a/c.

Your air compressor is just another idler pulley when not engaged. Now just how much horsepower does an idler pulley consume? Probably can't be measured, can it?

I bought mine new from Jegs for $45. That is pretty cheap in my book. If you have no plans to use the AC, than ditch it and save the weight.
Look on my cardomain webpage if you want to see it installed. |
Well what year is your mustang? Any kit that is removing a pulley is most likely going to need a new shorter belt. I bought the FMS a/c elim kit for mine. No instructions came with it. After I got the a/c compressor removed and everything else need be, it took me about 10 minutes to actually figure out how it all went together. The toughest part was running back and forth to NAPA to get the exact size belt i needed.
