Exclamation A/C eliminator and smog removal... questions...

Hey guys. On Friday I will be removing my a/c and moving the PS pump up via my Ford A/C eliminator kit. I will also me removing my smog pump and hardware. I have a few questions.

1) I bought a preowned eliminator kit and that was supposedly not used but I think I am missing a bolt. I found a few pics around and it appears that there are supposed to be (2) long bolts. I only have one; along with 3 shorter bolts, 5 lockwashers and 2 brackets. Does anyone know if the second long bolt is the same as the first? Can I get another identical bolt?

2) What size belt do I need with the smog pump and a/c gone? I have read 70.5" 71", 72", and 74.5." I would just use the string trick but I'd like to get the belt before I start work because the parts store is a hike from where I will be working on the car.

3) Also what size bolts do I need to plug the thermactor holes in the back of the heads?

Thanks guys. Once again MW has been an invaluable resource.

Bob

The plugs for the back of the heads are a 5/8" thread about 1" long. You might want to check out this site, it may help with belt routing and sizes. http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...ps/index.shtml

Yes...you got it right..2 long bolts...same size...and 3 shorter bolts..and 5 lock washers..and 2 brackets...U can remove the one long bolt without taking anything else apart. Lock 2 nuts together on the end of the bolt and use it to get the stud loose. Everything else is easy...Good luck...

Easy weight loss 101.
