Question C4 rebuild. Need some quick guidance.

Just need some quick advice...

A stock C4 can back up a strong motor until around 600hp, right? I'm about to get mine rebuilt and perhaps put a diff torque converter (at a diff stall rpm). There's some choices of places I can go to get it done, however, I am right now focusing on a certain shop where the guy is (or was) an avid racer down at the local track. I also heard that a good amt of ppl at the track go to him for tranny stuff.

For a rebuilt C4 with a little beefing up (I plan to have it behind a motor that is pushing at least 450 hp at the flywheel), it should run me around $700 to $900, right? I'm figuring into price the amount of labor to take it out and put it back in b/c I'd rather them just do all that so if anything wasn't hooked up correctly, they'd have to deal with it, not me.
