![]() After last night im convinced that something is holding me back big time. I think it is my stock maf sensor and injectors. Can this be holding me back that much? My combo is in my sig. I am thinking im going to go with the Pro M universal blow thru meter and 30 lb. injectors. I know my unported cobra intake is probably holding me back also.
Last night i raced another mustang lx that hung right with me that shouldnt of even been close. It was an aod with 373's, stock heads, stock cam, gt-40 intake, all the bolt ons, 75mm pro m and 24lb injectors and all factory accessories. I mean we were about side by side. I mean i have afr 165's, e-cam, c-4 3500 stall, 1.6 roller rockers, no ac, no air pump, electric fan, no power steering......this is compared to what he has stock. (the rest of the my set up is in my sig) What do you guys think....Is spending the money for the maf sensor and injectors really gonna wake this thing up? It is a low mileage 306 also...compared to his high mileage set up. Im going to get a good dyno tune after also. What should i be running? I went a 13.03 with unported gt-40 irons and stock rockers and power steering. So i figure i lost almost 80lbs between the heads and adding the flaming river rack. Thanks for all your help

![]() So you still have the stock MAF? If so that would be a cork on your setup. Just get a C&L and be done with it. You don't need injecters YET, and when you do need bigger injecters you can just swap out the tube in the C&L.
Another thought is that a C-4 asorbs more power then the AOD. I don't think it would be enough to notice on the butt dyno though.

![]() IMO...I'd go with a 77mm Univer. I'm also not a big fan of shorty headers. The 19's should be fine. What is the fuel pressure and timing set at?

![]() I need to check the timing after my new timing pointer comes in. For some reason it had no pointer when i bought it so i had to guesstimate it when i put on the heads. I think it is at 16 but have to check it. Now i have had some confusion about the pro m universal meter because i have been told many different things. Does the meter read differently then the bullet or the regular pro m meter? I heard the meter reads a full 360 degrees around the meter, do the other pro m meters do this? A local mustang performance shop said that the universal only allows for easier and more versatile mounting. I saw the universal meter on ebay for 350. Is this a decent price for it? How much horsepower are the 19lb injectors good for? Because i was thinking about upgrading to 30's so i dont have to mess with recalibration later. Right now the fuel pressure is at the stock 39. I have a 190 fuel pump.
thanks for your help,

![]() dragstang86......Not to knock you or start any flames, but I went 13.10@103 with bone stock heads, cam, and intake, usual bolt-ons, 3.73 gears, and slicks, it was a 93 LX 5 speed.............Soooooooooooo, what I'm getting at is sometimes it's just not simply the sum of your bolt-ons that win races, he get you out of the hole?, that has won me more races against cars that were a full second faster than me at the track, but on the street, which is where it's at 90% of the time, I out drove them alot of the time.
Now!..an answer to your question is YES a MAF, 30# injectors and an AFPR, in my opinion would put a good 2-3 tenths on your car....youve got the pump already so your all ready man!.....do it!........then getcha a 5-speed, hehehehehehe! Jay

![]() I know that is exactly my point...the car is not as fast as it should be and it is not due to my driving. I drive a mid 8 second tube chassis mustang every weekend 9 months out of the year. The car is a c-4 anyways, so its not like i can miss a gear with it. The car hooked fine on the 13.03 pass. It had a 1.76 60ft, it just feels lazy and doesnt pull hard on top end. It only went 103 mph. There is something holding it back. Im new to the efi world and small block fords for that matter and i cant figure out why its not running to its potential. I have known that the maf sensor was holding me back some but didnt know how much and i didnt know if i was getting enough fuel with the stock injectors.
