Default Please Help ASAP, 95 O2 Sensor Question

need help asap on this, i ordered o2 sensors for a 95 mustang 5.0, and all the parts stores and everyone are trying to tell me that this motor had 2 pre cat and 2 after cat sensors, which is incorect.

the ones i got were ntk 22016's, which do not fit in the harness. the harness has a 4 pin connector but only 3 are used.(and the plug is different)

i ordered o2 sensors from a 93(after i got the incorrect 22016's), which is the right connector, but the parts guy said that it only has 2 wires, and i believe i need three.

does anyone know the exact, 100% for sure way to get the right sensors?

i have to get them today, because my truck is coming home tomorrow and driving it without any o2's is going to be obnoxious.

thanks for the help, Kris.

100% for sure way to get the right parts. Go to your FORD dealer, take your VIN. Honestly I wouldn't put anything but a Ford O2 in a Ford, stay away from aftermarket O2 sensors. For some reason they'll work just fine in the GM junk, but I've had many many problems with them at my garage in Fords. Get an OEM Ford sensor, and presto! No problem.

Good Luck!

searching thru my chilton '94 to '98 mustang repair manual, it states that on 5.0 and '94-'95 3.8 engines, there are 2 sensors: 1 is located in the left exhaust manifold and the other in the dual converter y-pipe. looking at the electrical schematics shows 3 pins on each sensor going to pwr gnd, ign run and ho2-s r+l respectively. the lower right pin on each goes to a "common" which is connected to other parts of the system, like the transmission speed sensor, mlp sensor, etc. jesters right. fomoco parts for things like this

ok, well i dont have the vehicle vin #, just the motor and computer and everything. right now we have some sensors from a late 80's 5.0 in it right now and they seem to work, but im getting another set to try tomorrow.

phomed ford and since i didnt have the vin, the guy was a total prick and wouldnt help at all, so that idea is out.

the motor is in my bronco 2 and was purchased as just the motor, without the vehicle.
