Exclamation Calling all for a Tranny poll!

OK here we go! What tranny is better for regular (even daily) heavy street use and some strip time? The choices are between a Tremec 6-speed, A Dynamic Mighty Mite C4 w/brake, and a Lentech AOD. The motor is a 393 stroker and the car is a 93GT. Thanks in advance

Well if money doesn't come into it i would say go with the 6 Speed and then run some deep rear gears around 4.30 - 4.56 and stock up on tires!!

93-LX: 5 Speed, Flow's with H-Pipe, 3.73's Sub's and K&N.

C4-too many revs for highway driving, durable, not my choice for a driver though.
6-speed, lots of shock on the chassis but streetable in every way, if your going no power adders this will work great.
Lentech AOD-better for highway driving than the C4, probably strong enough to handle the power, and can absorb the shock from a power adder.

For a driver, I'd go with the 6 speed just because I love banging gears. If I was leaning towards ET's I'd get the Lentech AOD

Thanks for the reply guys. Originally, I was going to get the Mighty Mite C4 with the transbrake. But the other day my engine builder explained how it would operate and it didn't sound like much fun, until I go to the strip. So I'm really leaning towards a Lentech AOD with a 2500 stall convertor, if possible. Are they full manual valve body? Can I get a transbrake?

I was debating over what to do the next time I take my T-5 out (trying to plan ahead, but hopefully it's not for awhile ), and I was talking with my buddy who owns a local performance shop. He said he would go to a Lentech AOD no questions asked, the C-4 is strong but isn't fun on the street. He said especially since I plan on going with a big blower I need something consistant and something reliable, he directs a lot of his power adder customers to the Lentechs, but they are expensive. He said I would enjoy it as much as my 5 spd and pick up some ET in the process. I just wish they weren't so damn expensive. Try to get ahold of Jeff Chambers he put a Lentech in before this season, and has had awesome results, he can give you first hand insight.

I will have the 4:30's with my 5spd and it won't be that bad with the 6spd you could but some serious rear gear in but you would find your self not using 1st.

Rick 91GT-thanks for the input. Ironically, I spoke with Len, the owner of Lentech today and we discussed the tranny and my use. I'm going to post a new topic on this. Feel free to reply. The bottom line is that I'm going with the Lentech.

Thanks for the insight.
