Default which cam?

If I have 1.6 rr's, 202/160 that flow 295/231 @.600" lift, what kind of cam can I run to get maximum lift without having to worry about piston/valve clearance issues on a 331 ci?

Depends on your heads, pistons, and the cam duration. Definately need to check with the people offering the kit, or heads on what max lift is, and you'll probably need to clay the pistons to make sure.

Not all heads with 2.02" valves are going to be the same, either.

The max lift on these heads is .650 (canfields). I will be using pistons with valve releases but they are not flycut. will going with a .500 cam be safe?

Call Ed Curtis and get a custom cam done. You will see higher gains with a custom cam. Good luck.

Why do you say that canfields are only good to .650? Or do you mean your springs?
Even if someone tells you it will clear you still should check.

if your going to get an off the shelf cam try giving comp cams a call. They have their 1-800 number where they will tell you what cam that they have would be best suited to what your running and all that stuff. Its actually a pretty good setup.
