Cam Requirments
Hey guys, i wanna put a cam in my 85 GT. I wanna gain about 50 HP from it. What else, besides the cam, do i need to do? Thanks alot!

Hey i have no other mods except exaust. How much would i gain? What other mods do i have to do? Im going to put one in, i just want to know what else i have to do.

The stock cam will work well with the stock heads. You're better off buying a Performer RPM intake, rejetting the carb or buying a 650 vacuum secondary Holley, and running 1.7RR until you can buy aftermarket heads. If you must cam, keep it small like the Crane 2020 or 2031 to work with the stock heads and you'll need to install new valve springs for the added lift and rpm (a pain in the arse with the heads on the motor). For good bang for the buck, install some underdrive pulleys.
