The cam shaft dowel pin is loctaed on the cam itself. When you remove the timing chain and sprockets, you should see teh pin on the cam. Then remove the 2 bolts holding the retaining plate and the cam is ready to come out. You can use the long studded bolt form the water pump and thread it into the can to pull it out.
