Post Can a AODE get into the low 13s?

I have a 94 Mustang GT and have been wanting to go to the track for quite a while now. But every time I plan to go, something else comes up (wife/kids etc.)

Can someone check out my mods and tell me if it's possible for my AODE to get into the 13s or even low 13s? Please check mods under moponys in users rides.

Thanks in advance.

hmmm, with the AOD, the sn95 weight, and the vert weight.....stock that would be like a mid 15, but you have heads, cam, intake and exhaust. i think you can hit 13s if you drive well. i would suggest that you get hooked up with your local mustang club (or just some friends) and rent out the track, you'll get lots of runs, instead of 2-3 if you go to open track. You know the AOD shuffle?

Would a Precision Industries torque converter help the tranny or hurt it more?

Do you think I should get a Lentech tranny when mine gets trashed? Geez this car is a never ending money pit!!!When my kids feet start to grow and they need new shoes, I'm gonna have to modify their old shoes by cutting the fronts off and makine open toed sandals so their feet will fit in just so I'll have enough money for the Stang. Just Kidding...

the converter will cause more heat in your tranny, which will cause more rapid wear, thats why people suggest a tranny cooler with the installation of the converter, everyone here will tell you to definately go with a lentech, they are supposedly the best, go with the converter and get some good tires and you MAY hit 12's, get the lentech and your there for sure

and about the kids' shoes, you gotta do what you gotta do

its gonna be tough getting your aode in to the 13's with the stock computer. they have a very low rev limiter and pull tons of timing bewteen shifts. I ran a 2600 convertor with a trans cooler and never had any problems. the hottest i ever saw it get was on a 100 degree day doing 90 through st louis the temp gauge hit 235. i've got a brand new convertor, aode trans. used but excellent shape gauge and cooler!! any takers??...lol....
