Default can I use hardtop springs in my vert?

My older brother just bought a 90 GT hatchback. It's got a set of motorsport lowering springs on it that he doesn't like. He wants to swap my stock springs for his lowering springs.

My concern is that the spring rates are different. In fact, I know that different lowering springs are recomended for verts. My question is, what will the effect be of using hard top springs on my vert. Will it just sit lower?

Thanks,
Josh, aka the tireuburner

I think i remember people talking about if they put vert springs in thier hatch then the front would sit higher.

in your case im not sure at all. personally i wouldnt chance it, if they call for different springs from motorsport then there is a reason.

This may not be the same but I put v8 springs on my v6 and I love them. It sits alittle higher but when the new engine is in it will be fine.

I was told by a ford tech that you have to use vert springs on a vert.

But I dont know,

I've noticed that some springs have designations as being hardtop or vert springs, however some, BBK progressives for example, made no designations.

I believe the VERT is the heaviest of the FOX bodies... so I could understand if they called for different springs.. though I dont think it's THAT much heavier that it could make a world of difference... I mean.. does the car change that much from having a passenger ? sure it does.. but not enough to be a problem, though when I raced my 72 olds, my ETs were slower when I had a passenger so, it will effect your times... though that has little to do with springs.. so ignore me
