Sportsman Block
Ok, here's the new dilemma. I've got a few parts together for my new motor, nothing major. Bottom line, everything going in it is going to be stronger than stock. I'm at the block right now. I want a R302 but can't afford one. My next choice is the Sportsman. It says that it's rated at 600hp @ 6500 rpm. These are the plans for my motor:
Scat 4340 3.25 Stroker Crank Scat 4340 H-Beam 5.4" Rods Probe Stud Girdle ______ Windage Tray SRP or JE Pistons Brodix M2 ST 5.0 Fully CNC Ported Cylinder Heads Performer RPM II or Holley SysteMax II Intake Accufab 70mm Throttle Body C&L 76mm Meter Custom Cam 3.73 Gears My car is driven daily and will see the occasional weekend at the strip. I plugged these elements into Desktop Dyno 2000 and got 500hp. Now I also wanted to run the NOS "Big Shot" Plate system. Will the Sportsman hold this kind of horsepower? If my plans work out I plan on shifting at or below 6500 when racing. ~Brian
