Default Canister Removal

That canister box right next to the smog pump on a foxbody 302 what does that do and what effects will removin it have. Also if anyone know what that circle canister in the passenger side fender is thatll help to Thanks

I think it's a fuel charcoal canister, has fuel vapors from the tank that go there. I would ditch it.
