If you could provide us with a little bit more info, it would be helpful. What have you checked? Battery, connections, etc. What did you do to the car recently?

did a lot. switched to 5 speed, swithched to mass air. I have checked the grounds i know of, by the computer and on the firewall. i jumped out the started by using a wire and going directly to battery. tried hitting fuel pump inertia swithc. i was thinking it was somewhere before the computer because nothing is happening. i have power door locks, windows, lights, stere0

Ok, you have power locks, etc. Do they work????????? If not, given that neither the fuel pump nor starter will go, have you checked if the battery is good?

OK, now we can get cracking! Maybe someone else can help you out better, but all I can say is possible a bad relay, but I'm confused as to the fact that both the fuel pump and starter won't go. If they are both bad that would be one hell of a conincidence, I would suspect that there is something connecting the two, but I don't know the electrical parts of the car.

do you have a burglar alarm with starter bypass?
I put headders in my 93, and it would not start, but if I short the starter relay on the firewall next to the battery, it would start. Had to use the bypass/reset button on my burg alarm for 3 days, then the alarm started working fine. It may be the burglar alarm if you have one. |

If you switched out to a T-5, then I would suggest trying the wiring for the neutral safety switch. When you pulled the trans out did you bypass the neutral safety switch wires, or install the clutch safety switch?
On 5 speed cars there is a safety feature that you have to have the clutch depressed before it will start. On automatics there is a switch known as the neutral safety switch, it senses when the transmission is in neutral or park and will only let it start when it is in those positions. I feel there is problems with the wiring for the neutral safety switch. When this doesn't work I don't think that fuel even pumps, because it doesn't power up the EEC relay. I hope this helps. The neutral safety switch is on the transmission (automatic). The wires for it are under the center counsel I believe. I would check under the car first, though, because the counsel can be a pain to take off.
If you have a repair manual with wiring schematics you can trace the wires and just probably connect them. I will look at my wiring diagram and see if I can find something. I won't be able to check it out until Friday though. I have a report and a lab report due tomorrow. I will post on Friday. Jason |
