Car Idle at 2000rpm Help Hurry

I bought a 70mm throttle body for my 94 GT I took the old one off and installed the new one put everything back together but when I started the car it idled at 2000rpm I tried adjusting the idle screw on the TB but nothing worked. So i was pretty p.o.'ed
so i put the old Tb back on and the car did the same thing. Also there is a little more play in the throttle cable than there was when I started. I checked it at the pedal and the pedal doesn't jump back up like it used to however you can wrap the cable around a piece of the Tb and the pedal is in normal position and it revs fine but still only comes down to 2000rpm. Does anyone have any advice for me or help they can give I am in dire need because if i drive the car like this it will peel out of 2nd gear and just generally not drive right obviously!

Vacuum leak ... either that or the throttle is not closing all the way down ... look at the butterfly in the TB and see if it looks closed all the way when its idling ?

I want to say vacume leak. What about the TPS? New/old, how is it set?

Also try cleaning the Idle air bypass valve

you would have to reset the ECM and reset the TPS..to do that there is a 5 minute prsess that i dont recall exaclty so i will not post how to do it..i do rember it consists of disconnecdting the neg term and leaving the lights on for 1/2 hour then starting turing the car to KOEoff and setting the TPS to .95-.98..after this turn on the car and let it run for 2 minutes with no accesories on..shut off then start again with all accesories on..turn off after 2 mintes..then it should be good..the process is soemthing amounst those lines but dont quote me!

i have a new TPS on order there doesn't seem to be any leaks in what i installed. All the bolt are tight and everything is secure i know that isn't the best way to check but...!! The check engine light wasn't on when I first installed the TB but after disconnecting it and re-installing everything the idle is down to 1400 at idle and the engine light is on so it is kinda puzzling. Should the TPS itself in side where it attaches to the TB should you be able to move it completely in a circle pretty easy or should it be stationary?!

Check the tps voltage. You will need a digital volt meter set on DC. Ground the black and use the point on the red to peirce the orange wire on the tps. with the key on, set it, by loosening the two little screws the hold it down.Move it till the meter shows .95 - .99 volts.

Ok I figured out my problem I had bought this throttle body of of ebay which it was new in the box. I put a new TPS on and the engie light went off but it still wouldn;t idle down so i decided to call the company that makes the TB and it seems that they had recalled all of the ones they made and the guy told me it would be about 3 weeks before they were done making new ones and that he would switch it out even though i didn't get it from him. Also i reinstalled everything that was on there before w' the exception of the old TPS and my car is running fine now!!! thanks for your help
