Max tire & wheel size for rear 88GT ?
Need to put new rubber and looking for new wheels for our 88GT. I've heard 17x8 for the front is good without any rubbing. What is the largest I can run in the back without rolling the fender wheels 17x9 or 17x10.5?

Howdy!
I have a 1988 Mustang GT, so I will be able to help. I run a 17*9 all around. 235/45/17 front 275/40/17 rear No rubbing on the front. For the rears I had to flip the quad shocks. Ian

255's on 17x8 are pretty easy. 275's in the rear are do-able with 17x9 Cobra wheels. Any wider and you gotta do "some" work (which sounds like you rather not).
I did the 17x9-1/2" rims with 275-40's on all four corners. THAT took some work! More photos of whees/tires on my hompage.

Hey Darius,
I know you have tons of suspension mods, but what springs would I have to get to lower my car and get the stance you have? It sits perfect! How much is it lowered? Ian
