3200 without you on board

it matters if its a hatchback, notchback, or convert.
notch is around 3100
hatch is around 3200
convertable is around 3300

if im not mistaken.

Actually, with no oil or gasoline, it's:

Notch: 3037
Hatch: 3102
Vert: 3238

If you have an automatic transmission, add 60 pounds.

I run my own mobil repair business. I mostly do tune ups and brake jobs, but I specialize in high performance engine work and repair. About 18 years ago, in my first engines class at the local cc, I learned how important it is to have as much info as possible on the vehicles you will work on. So, I have a half assed collection of specs.

Funny how so many people seem to think the same torque specs, or plug gap, applies to everything. Silly people.

When it comes to Mustangs, the best source of specs I've found is in a book titled "The Official Ford Mustang 5.0 Technical Reference & Performance Handbook", by Al Kirschenbaum. It's Ford Racing Part Number is M-1832-Z4.

Excellent book when you need the specifics.

just to let you know Chris, i weighed my car with me in it. i have a 90 LX hatch. it had the spare and everything in it that came from the factory except the exhaust. it weigh 3380 - 150lbs for me. that would give you 3230. actually the exhuast should be lighter than stock. oh it was under a quarter tank of gas too!

Jim, since i have you and Chris on this thread, i have to ask you both a question. well Chris already answered most of my questions. the question is, i know thier is more ponies hidden in the stock 5.0 motor. what i am trying to do is to "find" those hidden ponies with the least amount of bolt ons. as far as the E7's go, i disagree with most that say they can't make power. i have seen them in the 12's!! so far chris told me to adjust the cam. i talked to some people who run factory stock(i think that was the class) and asked them what can i do with the stock heads? i was told by many to leave the intake alone and raise the roof of the exhaust and get rid of the "bump". i did that already. i am very interested in what you have to say. so please, i am all ears(actually all eyes!:D )

My '91 was 3420 lbs on the scales w/ 220 lbs (me) and 13gal of gas.

My Coupe came in right at 3030lbs with 3/4 tank of gas and me in it.
