bad motor mounts???
ok i think this id due to a bad motor mount. when i start the car i feel a slight bang nothing big and when i start to drive it , it starts to vibrate(sometimes a lot) it sorta sounds like a little bang in the engine area from the interior only when im at a dead stop in drive with the brake on when i give it gas it starts to go away then completly goes away. is this a bad motor mount? if not does anyone know? i drove the car one day came home installed new mass air meter and 76mm intake pipe. After i installed this it started to happen. i dont think its from this though.
any help appreciated thanks a lot |

Checking your motor mounts is simple.
Pop the hood, start her up, put it in 1st and give it a little gas, and let off, a couple of times. (foot on the brake of course) watching the motor to see how much it leans and listen for the thud or bang. It should lean a bit of course but you should have to make it work a little and there should be no bang in the movement. Try the same in reverse. Easy and excessive movement, say more than 2+ inches ( or banging/thud noises) mean new mounts. Get a friend at the pedal so you can watch the motor and mounts up close.
