Post Where to start?

I have (unfortunately) inherited what I've been told is a 1967 1/2 Mustang Conv. with the 289 and what I believe is a 3 spd. auto. While not new to the automotive scene (I autoX VWs) I am new to older Mustangs. Can anyone point me in the right direction to start learning about my car? Books, websites, and magazine recommendations would all be appreciated. The car was partially restored 20 yrs. ago and only driven approx. 6K miles since. Paint still looks terrific, car runs well, but interior has faded and was never really restored as well as the exterior and mechanicals.

Additionally, I know the one thing my benefactor would have loved more than anything else was to replace the cut up console. I've searched all the usual places including paper catalogs and web sites, yet no one seems to have the whole piece including plasic lens, etc. Any help?

Lastly, is a 1967 1/2 more properly considered a 67 or 68 in terms of options available, paint schemes, etc?

Not sure if I have ever heard of a 1967 1/2. Best publications are Mustangs Monthly and Mustangs Illustrated for the 64 thru 73 . Lots of restoration tips/advice. There are a couple of guides..Mustang Restoration Vol.I & II. Basics from carpeting to cowl fixes. You can get them from any of a number of sources like www.mustangsplus.com www.mustangsunlimited.com California Mustang, or National Parts Depot. As far as the center console is concerned...well they are tough to find in original form. Where are you located?

I asked because I have a local guy here that always seems to have the hard to find parts. Unfortunately I am in Vancouver WA. If you are seriously needing one I could always check with him...you did say automatic right?
