Talking carb to fuel injection

does anyone know if there will be a performance and power gain or loss when going from carb to fuel injection. the car is an 85 gt 5 speed. any info would be nice. thanks.

It really depends on what type/size of carb you go with and exactly what size of injectors and throttle body you go with. If you go from a stock carb setup to a stock injection setup, you probably won't see much of a power gain or loss. They will perform pretty evenly. You will get better gas mileage with an injection setup though, if tuned right.

Stock Carb setup to a stock FI setup, you'll see more torque and better milage with the FI.

You will gain a little bit of power and get better gas mileage with efi, but don't count on it for too much power. If you're just planning on replacing with stock stuff (ie, stock intake) i think it would be a waste of time, but if you are gonna go get a nice intake, and are gonna do other stuff in the future it is definently worth it.

Check out Holley and Edelbrocks new FI setups. They come with everything you need, computer and everything!
