It's a little hard to understand your post. Are you wanting to know how to tell if your secondaries are working? Normally, you have one vacuum line (small) that goes to the vacuum advance on the distributor and the big one would go to the pcv. If your intake doesn't have a good vacuum source, then you could use the big one to go to your vacuum tree. It's not the best, but it works.

Yes and no. Yes, run the small one to the distributor. The big outlet on your carburetor IS the vacuum soure. You should plug it, run it to the pcv valve, or if your intake manifold doesn't have a good vacuum source to run to the vacuum tree, then you can run a hose from the big outlet to the vacuum tree.

Basically it's like this. Whatever the MOTOR needs, hook it to the carb. Extra ports? Block them off. Carb manufactueres have to build ONE carb to fit MANY applications, so there's vacuum ports all over them.

For example, On my car, big one off the back of the carb goes to the brake booster. Andddd, that's about it. All other ports on the carb are blocked off.

It's all about what you NEED, not what the carb needs. Hook up what you need, block the rest of them off.
