![]() I have a 4 hole spacer about an inch thick on the car now and I`m going to the track tonight. I`m thinking about removing the spacer and seeing what happens.
Is it possable that the spacer is hurting performance? I`m also going to lower my shift points to 5500. trying to go 7`s ------------------ 85 mustang coupe with a 88 block, edelbrock 6022 aluminum heads, crane roller rockers, aluminum driveshaft,C-4 trans,3500 stall,3.73 gears, lakewood traction action liftbars with air bag in right rear spring, longtube headers, flowmasters, weiand stealth intake,600 holley, best e.t. 1/8 mile 8.01 best mph. 85.71 best 60 foot 1.72... |

![]() are you running the stock cam? 5500 might be to high then..
spacer just depends on the car...some like 'em, some dont.... doesnt cost anything to try it without it... so go for it ;-) FWIW, worked out my best shift points to keep the engine in the power band... 1st-2nd-5700 2nd-3rd-5400 3rd-4th-5400 4th-5th-4080 this keeps the engine on the way up for the torque band... ------------------ 84 convt,'95 302,AFR's, performer 3.55's, underdrives stock shorties stock cam, 1.7's 14.06@100.21, 255RWHP on a hot day 265 on the mph/weight chart |

![]() A 1" spacer might be a bit much on a near stock motor. Generally a spacer matched correctly to the combo can give a little more top end power, but too tall of a spacer can really kill low end.
