Default carb swap info

(1) Many people will tell you that you can use the stock in-tank fuel pump with a regulator. I've heard that regulators can creep. letting pressure rise to ?40psi? and this will kill a carb (key on engine off). A good thing to do is get the pickup from a '83-'85 and swap the fuel level sending unit from yours to it (the ulder units have different resistance values). Put an electric or mechanical pump outside the tank with a regulator.

(2) An electric pump can be wired to the existing harness for the fuel pump, (solder the fuel pump relay trigger to ground and the + voltage feed to the FPR to a key on ignition wire.

(3) You'll need a duraspark III ignition system (distributor, ignition module, coil...) or use an aftermarket system (MSD, ACCEL...)

(4) Now the really good part. The computer and all the wires for the sensors are not used any more so they can come out and all that copper adds up to alot of weight that can be removed from the front of your car.
