Carb swap info
I so far have a edel carb and rpm intake, air cleaner, my fuel lines, and a throttle cable bracket from lokar. Next is the ignition, distrib, pump and regulator. I would like to do the whole MSD thing especially with the HEI but I don't really have that kind of money. Is there any other good ignitions and distribs that are considerably cheaper than MSD. I know that I can get stuff from the scrap yard but I would rather just order from summit. Also is there good cheaper fuel pumps other than the holley blue, which i was originally going to go with. Also besides the throttle cable what else am i missing to do a good swap? This is a street car but emissions and legality don't bother me. thanks

The Summit brand pump Summit sells is nice. I have a Holley "Blue" on my car, but make sure you isolate is good with some rubber bushings cause it's loud as hell.
I just bought a distributor from a 84 GT (85 if you've got a roller cam) from Advance Auto Parts for like fifty bucks. I just cut off the DuraSpark connector and spliced it into my MSD 6al. It works fine for me.

As a whole you could just put in a duraspark ignition. As much as people will say its actually a really good ignition system. You can make some good power with it. The only time you really need to steup up is once you start making alot of power or go with any sort of power adder.
