Duraspark ignition swap
I have a '66 mustang with c-code 289. I need to know what is involved in swapping in a used Duraspark electronic ignition. Is it as simple as it sounds? Are there other pieces I need to take from the donor car? If i want performance upgrades, can i upgrade the Distributor? Thanks!

Very easy. Dist and module and some wire. But, Petronix is easier and works just as good. Looks better too if original means something to you.

I have done this exact conversion to a 72 351. Subsequently I have added an msd ignition module. From the donor car, get the distributor, wiring harness and ignition module. (new modules are cheap, I used the blue one) Get the coil cover too, a sweet little piece. Look at where the wires are going. Very little change. web.p3.net/~shoman/duraspark.htm is a web site with the wiring for this conversion. Good luck with it.
