Post Carburetor Help!

I need help to identify this carb that is on my 83 5.0. It's stamped Holley Then on the metal tag it has numbers E7PE BA, A4H23. Also stamped on the carb it has 50404-1 then under this number is 2354. I have been trying to look this up in the Holley catalog but no luck. Is it a 4160 or a 4180? help.

That's interesting, an E7PE prefix would indicate a 1987 model year. Hmm.......

You might wanna take it to a parts store and see if they can cross reference it. Good luck!

It IS a Holley 4180! I have a holley book and i've researched it as well. I had one on my '84 4BBL. It's a non-adjustable emissions carb (i don't think you can change the jets) and it is based off of a 4150, the 4160 is a non-emissions carburetor design with a fuel metering plate instead of block and it also doesn't have power valves (i know about these, but i don't know much about the carburetors otherwise). Also just so you know it's a vacuum secondary carburetor that has a CFM rating of 580cfm.

Great! thanks for the info. One more question? So can I use a rebuild kit from a 4150 or 4160 and can I order parts specifcally for the 4180?

4180's do not use the same rebuild kit. They have different metering block gaskets. They are adjustible but you must remove the screw caps to adjustit. I have a information article on this carb if you like to read it. Go to www.flemworld.com look under How To's>>85 How To's>>Modifying the 4180.
