caster and camber?

I have a 79 pace replica that I've had for 5 yrs now. I've got it running pretty good finally. But now this noise is comming from my front end every time I hit the brakes, or turn right at any speed over 45 mph. Its a loud humming sound.
I have checked the wheel bearings and even the ball joints. Inspected all the bushings under the front end, and the rotors, ty rods and the hole 9 yards.
Can caster and camber be a factor here? Has anyone ever had a problem like this? Please help.....

The alignment could definitely be a factor. Sometimes a wheel out of balance can cause some bad vibrations and noise at certain speeds, but probably not just while braking or turning right.
I also have a '79 Pace Car replica. Does yours have the 302 or the turbo 4? Mine was pitifully slow with the stock 302 and 2.47 gears- high 16s in the 1/4 mile with those 130 mean horses. I've got the whole Edelbrock Performer setup and true dual exhaust now with 3.08 Trac-lok and it runs solid 13s on street tires.

My pace came with the super slow 302 with the C4 behind it. That had to be fixed. I tore it down, inserted Keith Black forged .060 flat tops, with a comp 286-512 cam, trick flow heads, weiand stealth intake, with a holley 650 ddp to feed it. I went with the mallory High Fire ignition, and chose a TCI 2800 stall converter to help all those factors. I changed the rear to an 8.8 with the 2.73 gear for now, "will be changed"....
It ran a 14.38 on street tires and I could not hook for nothing.

thanx for the help with the front end.

well, I had the alignment checked and the guy said it wasn't that out of wack, not enough to make any noise or anything. Is there anything else? Can lower control arm bushings make a difference, can they make noises if they are dry rotted or old and brittle. Any suggestions on the mystery noise. ?????????????

Very confused.....

Holy crap! You must love those 4 wheel drifts!:D
Check all your bushings on the front end. It sounds like metel to metal contact somewhere.

...do ya feel a pull in the steer wheel when ya turn rite?.. how bout left?....sounds lyke a rack noise?... perhaps a strut bushing?.... ......mines not a pace repliac.. but has been pretty faithful......luck to ya!

Well, the car drives like a dream"besides the noise". It dosen't pull to the left or the right, and I cannot feel anything in the steering wheel while driving. I have not checked the strut bushings, but I will today. It has a new rack and pinion.

thanx for all the help .

Last week I purchased a 4.10 ring and pinion set, a pair of 26 in. M/T ET streets, and a new clucth pack for the rear. Can't wait to get it all installed.

14.38/97mph with 2.73's and street tires.
any guesses on the next pass??????????
should atleast drop 4 tenths huh?:D
