Thumbs down Charging Probs

Answer this one!
When my car is off my battery sits at a constant voltage of 12.97 volts, when I start my car it bogs to 9 volts turning the crank, when it Idles my voltage sits in the low 12 range 12.1-12.55, I do have underdrives, and it does show a charge when I rev it up, never hits the 14v range though, I will try putting on another pulley but I never had any charging troubles before,

Any suggestions

Probably a weak cell in the battery caused by the pullies, and perhaps leaving the lights on once or twice. Could also be a failing battery cable. Do this:
After it's been sitting overnight, hook up your DMM to the battery and note the voltage. Turn on your headlights for 15 seconds. Note how low the voltage goes. Turn off your headlights. Where's the voltage now? How long does it take to get back to where it was at first?

Answer those and we'll go from there.

Take care

Okay, tried that,
Starting voltage: 13.82
turned on headlights: 12.5
Headlights turned off after 15 or so seconds
13.67
another 15 seconds back to 13.75

outside temp: +13 c

Your battery is fine then. I suspect a problem with the battery cable going to the starter.

Take care
