which (cheap) tires best for stock rims?
Hi,
Just wondering what opinions people had on the best cheap tires to put on my stock rims. I have a 90 LX with GT rims on it. I need new tires bad but I don't want to spend too much because I'm going to a larger rim soon. I was thinking Radial TAs 245/55/15? Do they even make that size? thanks |

Get some of these:
http://www.pepboys.com/tires/peptire...supersportgls/ They are cheap and they hook up. Those BFG Radial TA's are hard as a rock. |

I run 225/60/15 Nitto NT460's. $70 a tire out the door with road hazard. I have to haggle to get that price every time, but I love the tires. They handle pretty good for 60's.
225/50's were $120 each, and 245/50's were $145, (not nittos) so you can see why I went with 60's ------------------ 90LX Ragtop. 14.7@95.3 Strut tower brace, K&N, 2.25'' Flowmasters, Hollow cats, Crank pulley, Crane 2031, Crane rockers, Holley FPR, 155lph, Heavy duty clutch, and alum quadrant. I got some BF Goodrich Comp T/A HR4 tires (225/60R15 H speed rated) for $58 a tire, but i balanced them myself (at the time i worked at a tire shop) and so far i love them, and they wear really well and stick really well around corners. but most places charge like $10 a tire for mounting and balancing so it'd come out to like a little over $70 depending on tax.

I run Kelly Z rated tires. A lot better in the rain then the eagle's that came on the car. My wife and I auto cross the car every other week end and their holding up much better then I thougt they would. They always hold up in corners and to braking every time.
